Configuring Network Interfaces
This section describes the tasks for configuring network interfaces, virtual LANs (VLANs), and link aggregate channels. To perform the tasks, you set, modify, and view parameters.
Topics include:
• Modifying Network Interfaces
• Configuring Virtual LANs
• Configuring Link Aggregation
Note: Some of the command-line instructions in this section include specific identifiers and/or settings. These values are only examples, but you can use them in your initial configuration.
Modifying Network Interfaces
configure interfaces and verify that the interfaces are configured correctly, perform the following procedures.
• Modify network interface characteristics such as speed, duplex mode, flow control, and monitoring. You can modify a network interface to match the settings on the other side of the communication link.
• View the settings of the configured interfaces. If the network interface number appears on the Interfaces page, the information shown applies only to that network interface. For example, information on the loopback network interface appears on the Interfaces page.
To modify a network interface using the configuration utility
1. In the navigation pane, expand Network and click Interfaces. The Interfaces page appears in the details pane.
2. Select the network interface that you want to modify, for example, 1/8.
3. Click Open. The Modify Interfaces dialog box appears.
4. In the Duplex drop-down list, select the duplex you want, for example, FULL.
5. Click OK.
To modify a network interface using the NetScaler command line
At a NetScaler command prompt, type:
set interface 1/8 -duplex full
Note: The network interface configuration is neither synchronized nor propagated. You must perform the configuration on each unit in a high availability (HA) pair independently.
Verifying the Configuration
Viewing the configuration enables you to troubleshoot any problem in the configuration.
Viewing the Properties of Network Interfaces
You can view network-interface properties such as description, MAC address, uptime, and virtual media access control (VMAC).
To view the properties of network interfaces using the configuration utility
1. In the navigation pane, expand Network and click Interfaces. The Interfaces page appears in the details pane, displaying details of the available network interfaces.
2. Verify that the configured interface appears (1/8 if you used the example in the previous procedure).
3. Select the configured interface and, in the Details section, verify that the parameters displayed are correctly configured.

line
At a NetScaler command prompt, type:
show interface
Viewing the Statistics of a Network Interface
To check the health of a network interface, you can view network-interface statistics such as throughput, Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), and error statistics. Use either of the following procedures to view the statistics of a network interface.
To view the statistics of a network interface using the configuration utility
1. In the navigation pane, expand Network and click Interfaces. The Interfaces page appears in the details pane.
2. Select the network interface whose statistics you want to view, for example, 1/8.
3. Click Statistics. The Interface Statistics dialog box appears.
